A £70m mixed-use scheme at a former gasworks in west London has won planning consent. Kensington & Chelsea’s planning committee has given outline permission to Peabody Trust’s plans for 300 homes, 17,000m2 (182,990 sq ft) of commercial space plus restaurants, bars and hi-tech offices on the 4ha (10 acre) canalside site next to the Ladbroke Grove branch of Sainsbury’s. The CZWG-designed scheme will feature the UK’s largest application of solar panels, for which the EU is providing funding.
