As cycling becomes the networking activity of choice in the property industry, the ladies are making sure that they are not left on the sidelines
Some 25 women from across the built environment gathered in Bilbao on 10 June to begin the third annual PedElle, a charity ride created specifically for women by Tibbalds partner Jennifer Ross and former DP9 partner Claire Treanor.
Raising money for children’s charity Coram, specifically its adoption service, the three-day ride this year travelled more than 450km from Bilbao to Madrid, taking in challenging climbs and long days in the saddle. This year’s event has so far raised more than £20,000, which will enable Coram to find and prepare 17 adoptive parents and to give six vulnerable children a lifetime of post-adoption care.
The ride brings together women from across the real estate industry, enabling those just starting out in their careers to network with those more experienced in their professions, helping boost confidence in a male-dominated industry and forging life-long friendships.
Organised by the Cycle To team, the charity event specialists behind the annual Cycle To MIPIM ride, PedElle is fast becoming an important event in the industry’s diversity push.
