Meyer Bergman, the European real estate investment management firm, has signed international fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg at its Forum Nová Karolina shopping centre in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
The letting follows the opening of Forum Nová Karolina earlier this month, which marked the first shopping centre to open in the Czech Republic in over a year and the most significant retail offering in the Moravia-Silesia region.
Peek & Cloppenburg, has signed a 10-year lease on a 3,200 m² unit at the centre. The unit, the company’s third store in the Czech Republic, is on ground and first levels of the scheme. Forum Nová Karolina is now 99% leased.
Peek & Cloppenburg joins anchor tenants Albert hypermarket, international retailers H&M, Marks & Spencer and C&A. Other tenants, eight of whom for which the Centre represents their first store in the City of Ostrava, include Guess, Burger King, Subway, Panenria, Sushi Point, Muziker, Douglas Perfumery and Pure Gym.
Situated in the centre of Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic, Forum Nová Karolina comprises around 60,000 m² of retail and leisure space and includes an eight-screen multiplex cinema, as well as a family centre.
No rent was disclosed, but prime rents for regional retail property in Czech Republic can be as much as €100 per m² a year.
