Peel looks at going private

Peel Holdings is exploring the possibility of going private in a deal that would value the company at £700m.

Peel owns the UK’s largest out-of-town shopping centre, the £600m Trafford Centre, in Manchester which analysts say have not pulled in the huge crowds hoped for during Christmas and the new year.

Peel’s share have suffered of late and John Whittaker, chairman, is disappointed the City has not put a higher rating on the shares since the opening of the Trafford Centre last September.
