The section 106 agreement has now been signed and planning permissions issued.
David Molyneux, leader of Wigan Council, said: “We have worked closely with Peel to consult on and prepare a masterplan for this development, to ensure it delivers real benefits for our borough.
“In addition to more than 1,000 new homes, including much-needed affordable housing, there will be investment in new education facilities, dedicated community and leisure space, new infrastructure including improvements to the local highway and for active travel, and a new stop on the Guided Busway.”
Cerys Huston, development planning manager at Peel Land, said the signing of the section 106 agreement “cleared the path” to deliver the scheme.
“We are now looking to commence site delivery with Wigan Borough Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and housebuilding partners. We look forward to seeing the benefits that Mosley Common will bring to Wigan delivered on the ground.”
