Peel L&P subsidiary Peel Waters has submitted proposals to develop a new logistics and industrial hub in Salford, Greater Manchester.
The scheme, to be known as Halo West and measure 108,553 sq ft, will transform the current brownfield site, which has previously been used as a waste recycling facility, into an employment zone.
Halo West, designed by architectural firm AEW, will comprise eight facilities ranging in size from 4,338 sq ft to 39,460 sq ft, designed to a grade-A specification and targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating.
The development is adjacent to Junction 11 of the M60, allowing future users of the site access within minutes to the ring motorway, and from there the major arterial routes of the M62 and M6.
Peter Linstead, development director of logistics at Peel Waters, said: “The development of this brownfield site will create local employment opportunities and enable businesses to serve both the local and wider region by making best use of the location, local infrastructure and the scheme’s strategic proximity to the motorway network.”
WSP acted as planning consultant on the scheme.
