Milan appointments for Cordea Savills

Cordea Savills has recruited three employees to its Milan office. Alessandro Castiglione will be responsible for asset management of the Italian portfolios. Before joining Cordea Savills, he worked for BNL Fondi Immobiliari, Deutsche Bank Real Estate and Unieuro, where he was in charge of asset and property management. Pierfilippo Barattolo will look after pan-European investment on behalf of Italian clients. Before moving to Cordea Savills, Barattolo was investment director at DTZ. Giuseppina La Mantia also joins the team in Milan, and will take responsibility for asset management on Cordea Savills’ opportunistic funds.

Franklin Templeton promotes Pialloux

Franklin Templeton Real Estate Advisors has promoted Boris Pialloux to co-portfolio manager. Pialloux will be co-managing with Jack Foster, managing director and head of real estate, the Franklin Global REIT Fund, the Franklin Global Real Estate (Euro) Fund and the Franklin Global Real Estate (USD) Fund. Pialloux joined Franklin Templeton Investments in June 2006 as a research analyst focusing on European property stocks.

McAlister joins Heron International

Mark McAlister has been appointed as leasing director for Heron International.

McAlister joins from CB Richard Ellis’s City of London office, where he has worked for 26 years, most recently as senior director handling a wide range of office developments, acquisitions and letting instructions. McAlister also took a six-year secondment with the Canary Wharf Group. He will take up the position at Heron with effect from 2 January 2008.

Socker and Evans join Invesco Real Estate

Invesco Real Estate has recruited Marc Socker and Keith Evans to the firm’s hotel and leisure fund management team in the London office. Socker joins the team as acquisitions manager, and previously worked at DTZ corporate finance, where he was responsible for advisory services to the hotel industry, covering management contracts, financing and strategic advisory. Evans will join the team as an analyst, and comes from Spanish consultancy EuroPraxis Consulting, where he worked as a financial consultant within the tourism and leisure department.

C&W Hospitality appoint Golubovic

Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality has appointed Sasha Golubovic to head the group’s newly opened Hungarian practice. Golubovic, who joins as an associate director, will focus on Hungary, the Balkan states, Bulgaria and Romania and will be based in the firm’s Budapest office. She joins from Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in Munich, where she was vice president. Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality has also appointed Andrés Soldevila as senior consultant within the firm’s Madrid office. He joins from Pierre & Vacances in Spain, where he was an executive assistant manager responsible for completing market opportunity studies.

Meijer appointed to Invista board

Invista European Real Estate Trust has appointed Jaap Meijer to its board of directors as a non-executive director. Formal shareholder ratification of his appointment will be sought at the company’s next ordinary general meeting. A member of the Luxembourg “Ordre des Expert-Comptables” (Order of Accountants), Meijer is a director of several Luxembourg-based investment entities and has worked at Mourant Luxembourg SA as finance manager. At the same time, Robert Kimmels has stepped down from his role as a non-executive director on the board.

Verhoeff joins ING Real Estate

Menno Verhoeff has been appointed senior acquisitions manager for ING Real Estate in central and eastern Europe. Based in Prague, Verhoeff will be responsible for acquisitions in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Austria. He joined ING Real Estate Investment Management in 2004 as a retail asset and acquisition manager for the Netherlands and Germany.

Unibail-Rodamco names president

Bertrand Julien-Laferrière has been named as president of Unibail-Rodamco development. Julien-Laferrière previously occupied the roles of managing director of the Ricardo Bofill group, construction director of the Accor group and member of the general board of Club Méditerranée, responsible for development, property and construction.

King Sturge appoints director of agency

King Sturge has appointed Tatiana Spencer as a salaried partner and director of agency at its Warsaw office. She joins from Jones Lang LaSalle, where she was national director and head of the retail department, and was employed since 1998.

Ledoux wins legal honours

DLA Piper’s head of French real estate, Philippe Ledoux, has been awarded the Légion d’Honneur (Chevalier) by the French Ministry of Justice. Paris-based Ledoux, who has been with DLA Piper for three years, received the award in recognition of his 37 years of service to the legal profession.
