Citigroup recruits Henderson director
Alasdair Findlay-Shirras has joined Citigroup Property Investors as director, business development and client relations, for Europe and the Middle East. Findlay-Shirras is based at CPI’s London office and was previously director of institutional marketing for Henderson Global Investors. Prior to working for Henderson, he helped build Hypovereinsbank’s property asset management business as head of the financial institutional group in Munich.
Tiger snaps up Brodrick
Investment and development company Tiger Developments has appointed Mark Brodrick to head a £500m investment programme in continental Europe. Brodrick, who joins from Jones Lang LaSalle and will be based in London, will be responsible for acquiring investments in Germany, Italy, Scandinavia, France, Spain and Benelux.
Savills extends German arm
Savills has appointed Tim Wiesener to head its new Munich office, Marcus Lehmann as director of office agency in Berlin, and Marco Mallucci as head of office agency in Frankfurt.
Marcus takes BPF post
Ian Marcus, managing director of real estate investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston, has been named as the British Property Federation’s junior vice-president for 2005. Marcus will take over from Nick Ritblat, who has been promoted to senior vice-president. Marcus has also been appointed chairman of the Bank of England Property Forum, which was established in 1993 to improve the Bank’s understanding of financial developments in UK commercial property.
West moves from DTZ to Revcap
Nick West has left DTZ to join Revcap LLP as a partner. Revcap was launched last year to provide property joint-venture equity and mezzanine finance in western Europe.
Donnet to head IAE asset management
European property investment management company IXIS AEW Europe (IAE) has appointed Eric Donnet as head of asset management activities and a member of the company’s board. Donnet joins from French property investment company Bail Investissement, where he has been a delegated director and member of the executive board since 2002.
C&R picks head for German venture
UK-based Capital & Regional has appointed Wilhelm zu Wied as development manager of its German joint venture with the Hahn Group, where he will also be responsible for the company’s German interests and expansion. Zu Wied joins from agent Angermann Goddard & Lloyd.
Colliers builds up Polish team
Colliers International has expanded its research and investment department in Poland. Malgorzata Sadkowska joined the team in October as an investment associate, while Bernadetta Banasiewicz, Monika Kowanska, Anna Szymanska and Magdalena Kokosza were appointed to the research team in September. Meanwhile, Colliers CRE has appointed former Experian director Andrew Taylor as business development director. He will also be responsible for research and marketing.
Barker to run Protego industrial assets
Protego Real Estate Investors has appointed Graham Barker as director of its asset management division. Barker, who joins from industrial specialist Brixton, will oversee the management of industrial property. Property lawyer Mark Adams has become associate director of Protego and will work on forming and running public and private investment vehicles, while Matthew Callow joins as a senior investment analyst from BW Investors Services.
CBRE Investors takes on securities expert
CB Richard Ellis Investors has appointed Daniela Lungu as associate director to support the growth of its global real estates securities business. She will be responsible for pan-European stock modelling and analysis, property sector research and administration of the portfolio. Her previous experience includes six years as an equity analyst at Deutsche Bank.
Paris duo form retail partnership
Paris-based surveyors Andrew Percival and Simon Hollis have joined forces to create Retail Partners, which will provide asset management, investment and advisory services to retail property investors, owners and occupiers. Percival’s former roles include being managing director of Corio France, while Hollis was an international director with Société des Centres Commerciaux from 2002 to 2004.
Bub joins Hypo Real Estate management
Stephan Walter Bub is to join the management of German bank Hypo Real Estate Holding at the start of December. He will be responsible for the group’s public finance and capital markets activities. Bub will also be CEO of the soon-to-be-launched Hypo Public Finance Bank in Dublin.
Barrondo quits Metrovacesa for GE
GE Commercial Finance Real Estate has appointed Xabier Barrondo as head of business development for Spain and Portugal. He joins from Metrovacesa.

David Hunter, former managing director of Arlington Property Investors, has established property fund consultancy Hunter Advisers as “a platform for a broad spectrum of activities”. The firm will offer support to businesses contemplating launching property funds, including structuring advice and fund raising. It will also consider taking a long-term role and stake in funds. Parallel to the advisory business, Hunter is also planning to assemble a property portfolio focusing on problem assets, where his renowned lateral thinking and innovation is likely to reap rewards. “I have my first £100m of capital lined up,” says Hunter. The company’s headquarters will be in Glasgow but it will also have a London office. |
Erik Sonden is to become head of real estate with French banking group Société Générale’s investment banking arm. Sonden was previously a director and co-founder of European investment management business Fountain Capital Partners, now part owned by Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker. Prior to forming Fountain he was a director of Deutsche Bank and a Jones Lang LaSalle European director and head of the firm’s capital markets department in Paris. |
