Elwing joins Greenhill & Co
Fredrik Elwing has joined Greenhill & Co from Credit Suisse and the Real Estate Private Fund Group. Greenhill is an independent investment bank which provides financial advice to corporations, partnerships, institutions and governments, in particular advice on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, financings and capital raises.
Du Rivau leaves Retail Consulting Group
Amélie du Rivau has left Paris-based advisory the Retail Consulting Group.
Du Rivau left by mutual consent after spending more than 20 years with the group, working firstly for its previous incarnation, Larry Smith Consulting and later running RCG’s “Etudes” department.
JLL appoints Pehrsson
Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Håkan Pehrsson as head of asset management and retail in Sweden. Pehrsson was previously deputy general director for IKEA Real Estate Russia & CIS. He will start this month.
CEO post for Banzhaf at Atrium
Atrium European Real Estate has appointed Jörg Banzhaf as chief investment officer. The central and eastern European shopping centre developer recruited Banzhaf from retail developer ECE Projektmanagement, where he was responsible for German developments. Banzhaf has also worked for German project manager Arcadis Homola as well as construction company Philipp Holzmann.
CBRE recruits four in Warsaw
CB Richard Ellis has made senior appointments in its office agency division in Warsaw. Daniel Bienias joins CBRE as a director of tenant representation. Milosz Michalski joins Bienias as a property negotiator in the team. Lukasz Kaledkiewicz has been named director of landlord representation; Rafal Wdowczyk joins as new senior property negotiator in the team.
Nordic foursome start new venture
Four former fund managers have launched an independent investment firm in Sweden. Anders Åström, Edward Jögi, Bo Ljunglöf and Tomas Otterud have all previously worked for Credit Suisse or Aberdeen. They will run the new entity, Custor Capital, from Stockholm and target institutional investors.
Buck appoints Siemons
Buck Consultants International has appointed Jan Siemons to shore up the Dutch firm’s strategy to expand its advisory services to foreign firms that are looking to relocate. Siemons joins from Ernst & Young, where he had worked for 16 years. With head offices in the Dutch town of Nijemgen, Buck Consultants employs 65 people worldwide.
DeVos joins Pramerica
Pramerica Real Estate Investors has named David DeVos as its new global sustainability officer, responsible for overseeing the company’s evolving strategy to reduce its worldwide environmental footprint. Previously, DeVos co-founded Ecoxera, a consulting firm advising on sustainability standards.
Invesco appoints seven across Europe
Invesco Real Estate has made seven appointments across its European business covering fund management, asset management, transactions, research and fund accounting. William Ertz has joined as a senior fund manager in Munich. He joins from Catella Real Estate, where he was responsible for portfolio management and product development. Prior to this he worked at AXA Investment Managers as a senior portfolio manager. Chris Brassington has joined as an Associate in IRE’s fund management department providing support to the London-based fund management team on its UK and pan-European funds. He previously worked for IRE between 2002 and 2006 within the UK transactions team and left to join Doughty Hanson & Co, a UK private equity business, helping to invest their opportunistic pan-European real estate fund. Fritz Balletshofer has joined as a fund controller in Munich within IRE’s fund accounting team. He joins from Pramerica. Matthias Naumann joined as a European research analyst within the global research team, based in Munich. He joins from IPD where he was a senior analyst for their central and eastern Europe portfolio analysis service and a team leader for the Swiss service. Sandra Richter has joined IRE as an account manager within the Munich office’s fund accounting team to provide fund administration and investor reporting for IRE’s pan-European funds and client mandates. Prior to joining IRE, Richter worked as a property manager for Derag and BNP Paribas Real Estate GmbH. Oliver Scholl has joined as an asset manager within the hotel and leisure fund management team, based in Munich. Prior to joining IRE, Scholl was a senior consultant within Ernst & Young Real Estate’s hospitality advisory team. Mark Leiter has joined IRE as a transactions analyst, based in the Munich office, covering the German and Netherlands markets. Prior to joining the real estate team, Leiter completed a six-month trainee programme in Invesco’s New York office. Willem Labuschagne has moved internally to become director of Luxembourg operations. Labuschagne worked previously in the firm’s legal department.
Beyerle leaves Aberdeen Immobilien
Dr Thomas Beyerle has resigned as global head of research from Aberdeen Immobilien KAG, formerly Degi. He will leave at the end of the year. Earlier this year, managing directors Malcolm Morgan and Bärbel Schomberg left the firm after the German open-ended funds were hit by large write-downs on their asset values. Aberdeen said Beyerle’s role would be covered by Andrew Smith, currently global head of property, from London.
