Benelux post for IPD’s Dorigo

IPD has hired Lorenzo Dorigo as a senior member of its team in the Benelux region. Dorigo joined the real estate research provider from a consultancy he ran for the past three years. He previously served as director and head of transactions at ING REIM Netherlands and as chief executive with AZL Real Estate Management. Dorigo will oversee the client management team, focusing on real estate asset managers exposed to the Dutch property investment market. “Lorenzo’s appointment demonstrates our strong commitment to supporting the real estate investment industry and its stakeholders with exceptional knowledge, networks and analytical expertise,” said IPD’s managing director in Benelux, Arnoud Vlak.

Knight Frank hires Catena

Knight Frank has hired Javier Catena as its new head of retail projects in Spain. Catena will join as an associate and will be responsible for strengthening Knight Frank’s retail business. His predecessor, José Díaz-Merediz, will remain serving as associate head of retail management. Catena joined Knight Frank from Iberian property company Chamartìn, where he served as general director for the past seven years. He previously worked in shopping centre development and investment with Carrefour, Promodeico and ING Real Estate.

Pair join C&W in Paris

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Ludovic Mas and Alexia Lemaire (pictured) as consultants in the capital market and the office department respectively. Mas will be in charge of relations with institutional investors in France, with a particular focus on offices. He previously served as associate director in GE Real Estate’s acquisition and risk division. Lemaire will be working with C&W’s Paris region team. She joined the firm from DTZ, where she worked as a negotiator for six years. “Since the beginning of the year, our team has participated in 40 transactions with a volume of 65,000 m2,” said C&W’s head of offices and development department in Paris, Ludovic Delaisse.

Forum partners appoints Wells

Global real estate investment manager Forum Partners has hired Gregory Wells as its new managing director and head of Asia based in Hong Kong. Wells joins Forum from Deutsche Bank in the US after he established the firm’s private equity business in Asia. He previously set up law firm Paul Hastings’ Chinese practice in Shanghai and served as chief financial officer of real estate funds at Morgan Stanley in Japan.

CBRE hires two in Russia

CBRE has announced two senior appointments to its Russian management team. Svetlana Shorina has been promoted to director of valuation in the strategic consulting and valuation department, and Hike Papoyan has been promoted to the director of regional projects in global corporate services department. Shorina joined CBRE in August 2012 from Jones Lang LaSalle. She has more than 10 years’ experience in valuation. Her background includes valuing residential and commercial real estate, including land plots for integrated development, financial analysis and business valuation. Papoyan has been been with CBRE as a consultant within the GCS business line since 2006.

Knopek joins Aareal board

Aareal Bank has appointed Dagmar Knopek as a member of the management board with effect from 1 June 2013. Knopek will be responsible for the markets in Aareal Bank’s structured property financing segment. She succeeds Dirk Große Wördemann, who is leaving in May but will continue to serve in an advisory capacity. Große has been a member of the management board since November 2010. Knopek joined Aareal Bank Group in 1999. As head of the credit management division, she is responsible for the bank’s activities in Europe, the US and Asia. Prior to joining Aareal Bank she was chief credit officer for Aareal Capital Corporation in New York.

C&W hires three in Turkey

Duygu Özer, Nesil Akman Aybar and Levent Erna have joined the firm’s Turkish office in the retail, valuation and advisory, and industrial departments respectively. Özer (pictured), who was hired as C&W’s new manager of retail in the country, has previously worked as expansion manager for C&A and Goldas. Aybar joined C&W from BNP Paribas’ Turkish subsidiary Kuzeybati, where she served as valuation and advisory director. Erna, who will serve as a senior consultant, joined C&W from Turkish developer Çolakoglu, where he oversaw land acquisitions. He previously worked in Colliers’ office in Turkey.

Colquhoun joins DTZ in Poland

DTZ has appointed Alan Colquhoun as country head in Poland. Colquhoun has been with DTZ for 18 years, working in the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada and the UK. Colquhoun joined DTZ in May 1993 as the head of agency at DTZ in Prague. He was the managing director of DTZ in Prague between 1996 and 1999, and from 1999 until 2009 was managing director of DTZ in Poland. In 2010 he went to Canada where he was CEO of DTZ Barnicke before relocating to London in January 2011 to be involved in consultancy work across central and eastern Europe.

CBRE GI appoints Bruns

CBRE Global Investors has appointed Olaf Bruns as a director of portfolio management, Germany. Bruns will be part of the recently reorganised EMEA Separate Accounts business line. He will report to John Ozinga, head of Continental Europe separate accounts. Burns joins CBRE Global Investors from UBS Global Asset Management, where he was director of portfolio management and business development and was responsible for the development and performance of an open-ended real estate fund. Prior to joining UBS in 2005, he worked for Landesbank Berlin, Union Investment Real Estate, Oppenheim Immobilien KAG (today’s IVG) and Deutsche Real Estate.
