Stenham appoints Taylor
Stenham, the global investment management group, has appointed Andy Taylor as head of UK Property. Taylor joins from Hotbed, an alternative investment manager, where he was a property consultant. He was previously a partner at Knight Frank.
Two join Atrium European Real Estate
Atrium European Real Estate has appointmentedEwoud van Gellicum as general counseland Ljudmila Popova as the company’s financial analyst. Van Gellicum joins from TomTom, a maker of satellite navigation systems, where he was general counsel, company secretary and compliance officer. Prior to this, he spent eight years at the international corporate law firm Stibbe, focusing mainly on commercial and corporate legal affairs. He holds a law degree from Erasmus University, Rotterdam. Popova joins from Kempen & Co, the Dutch merchant bank, where she was an equity research analyst specialising on real estate companies. She has a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in econometrics from the University of Amsterdam, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.
Mishcon de Reya appoints Hunter
Mishcon de Reya has appointed Simon Hunter as partner and head of the firm’s construction group. Hunterjoins Mishcon de Reyafrom Stephens Finers Innocent, where he was head of construction for three years.
Former RICS head joins Hoare
David Tuffin, former president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, has joined as an associate and key adviser to the property derivatives team at Hoare Capital Markets.
Forster to join IVG Asset Management
Peter Forster will become managing director of IVG Asset Management with effect from 1 July 2009. Forster joins from Deka Immobilien, where he headed asset management. Previous to that, Forster was part of the real estate management team at DeTeImmobilien and Allianz Immobilien.
Houston to leave ING Real Estate
Robert Houston, chief executive of ING Real Estate’s investment management business, is leaving the company. Houston, who jointly founded the UK investment management business in 1980, will step down on 1 August. He plans to establish a strategic advisory firmand build uphis sports charity,Boost. ING Real Estate chief executive George Jautze will replace Houston. Separately, ING Real Estate’s country manager in Germany, Buddy Roes, has left the company. Roes became country manager in September 2006.
Herbert to advise Advanced Capital
Former Merrill European property and hotels business head John Herbert is joining Advanced Capital as a senior adviser to a new €300m property fund of funds.
Ferrans promoted at Invista
Invista Real Estate Investment Management says that its interim chairman, Douglas Ferrans, has been appointed as chairman with immediate effect. Ferrans has held the position of interim chairman since February 2008 and has been a non-executive director of Invista since the company’s launch on the stock exchange in September 2006.
Aviva appoints Gellatly
Aviva Investors has recruited Blackrock managing director John Gellatly to lead its multi-manager real estate business in Europe.
Lackner and Braun join C&W
Cushman & Wakefield Germany has expanded its real estate management business in Germany by hiring Ellen Lackner andAnne Braun in Düsseldorf. Lackner joins the company from Dawnay Day Property Investment, where she was chief operating officer. Prior to that, she worked for retailer Metro. Braun transfers from the company’s capital markets team.
Feifer joins Orion Capital Managers
Orion Capital Managers has appointed Lisa Feifer as director of investor relations based in Orion’s London office. Feifer will lead capital raising and the overall support of Orion’s investor base. Prior to joining Orion, Feifer spent two– and-a-half years at Lehman Brothers managing the European capital-raising effort. Orion is raising its third pan-European opportunity fund.
Aguirre Newman appoints Concejo Diez
José Enrique Concejo Diez has joined Spanish property consultant Aguirre Newman as the director of its corporate finance division.Concejo Diez joins from UBS Investment Bank in London where he recently worked in the financial institutions team and was responsible for the Spanish market.
Warschke joins Helaba
German bank Helaba has appointed Ingeborg Warschke as head of its UK real estate finance department. The appointment is part of the bank’s plan to increase its presence in the UK market. Warschke replaces Peter Wilson, who will become senior relationship director in the London branch.
