Dayries to head IXIS AEW Europe

Jean-Jacques Dayries has been appointed chief executive officer for IXIS AEW Europe. Dayries was formerly head of global real estate banking for Cr,dit Lyonnais. He has also worked for Suez Ventures, aluminium and packaging group Pechiney and management consultant AT Kearney.

Dayries will chair the IXIS AEW Europe Management Committee, which also includes Franáois Pochard, Ric Lewis and Joe Azrack, and he will be on the board of directors. He will have overall responsibility for the group’s day-to-day operations, including the coordination of the regional offices.

IXIS AEW Europe was created in January 2003 and brings together CDC Ixis Immobilier, Curzon Global Partners and AEW Italia. The group, which has €9.5bn of total gross assets under management, has recently opened an office in Stockholm.

TEXT: Rowson moves to INGREIM

Will Rowson has joined ING Real Estate Investment Management as director of European fund management. Rowson, formerly international partner of Strutt & Parker, will join Nick Cooper, head of European investment, to acquire commercial property investments across Europe. ING has assets worth €10bn under management.

Gellatly changes roles at CSFB

John Gellatly has transferred to the real estate investment banking team at CSFB. Gellatly spent the past three years as part of the real estate equity research team. His remit will be to advise corporate clients on how to raise capital from their property.

Hansell joins Lehman CMBS team

Peter Hansell has left HVB, where he was head of securitisation, to join Lehman Brothers’ UK commercial mortgage-backed securitisation team. He will work alongside head of UK CMBS Jim Blakemore, focusing mainly on lending for securitisation in the UK and Continental Europe.

DB Real Estate appoints Allendorf

Georg Allendorf has been appointed as a managing director at the spezialfonds division of DB Real Estate, with responsibility for DB Real Estate Spezial Invest and its acquisition and portfolio management policy. Allendorf was previously responsible for portfolio management at assurance company R&V Versicherung and was also employed by the European Business School as an adviser and lecturer.

Dingle becomes Ernst &Young partner

Ernst & Young has appointed Stephen Dingle as a partner. He was formerly head of the property advisory team at NM Rothschild, where he was lead adviser on property transactions for the BBC and British Waterways. Dingle has also been involved in the field of higher education finance for the universities of City, Lancaster and Greenwich. Andrew Ovey has also joined as an assistant director at Ernst &Young. He has 11 years of experience in the investment banking sector, most recently at Morgan Stanley and INGBarings.

Marcus takes the chair at IPF

Ian Marcus, Credit Suisse First Boston’s head of European real estate, has taken over as chairman at the UK investment body Investment Property Forum. Marcus is a former IPF vice-chairman who has several years involvement with the management board. He will continue to represent the IPF on the Bank of England Property Forum.

Beni Stabili appoints new finance head

Luca Lucaroni has been named as Beni Stabili’s new chief financial officer (CFO). Lucaroni was formerly CFO for property company Aedes. He will have responsibility for administration, finance, management control, information technology and investor relations.

Down helps launch City agent

Stephen Down, head of central London development at Insignia Richard Ellis, has resigned to team up with former Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker equity partners Colin Hargreaves and Angus Goswell to form Hargreaves Goswell Down, a City of London specialist agent. The venture, which is being backed by Catella Property Group, will specialise in property investment, development and occupational agency work.

JLL unveils pan-European promotions

Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Pedro Churruca and Walther Ghislain as regional directors in its latest round of promotions. Churruca has contributed to the development of the Spanish business as head of office agency and general manager in Spain, while Ghislain is head of investor property management services in Brussels and Paris. A further 18 people have been promoted from across JLL’s European business to national director, including: Jean de Beaufort, head of agency in northern Paris; Mark Brodrick of the capital markets team in London; Thierry Delvaux, previously managing director in Budapest; Tim Edghill, a member of the European corporate finance team in London; Sven Lemmes, leader of the development of central and eastern European capital markets in Budapest; Niall Macdonald, a member of the Edinburgh retail and leisure agency team; Brenna O’Roarty of the pan-European retail research team in London; Johan Peterson of the Nordic capital markets team in Stockholm; Jan de Quay, head of the Amsterdam investment sales team; Chris Staveley of the Paris capital markets team; and Laurent Vallas, head of the Lyon and Grenoble offices in France.

Vall fills Knight Frank research post

Imma Vall has joined Knight Frank as senior international analyst and head of research for the Knight Frank Spanish office. She previously worked for CB Richard Ellis in Spain. Vall will be responsible for research across the office, retail, industrial and residential markets in Spain as well as co-ordinating reports from the different European markets.
