Mixed-use developer First Base has appointed Douglas Higgins (pictured right) to its development team as project director. He will work on its portfolio of mixed-use and regeneration projects in London and the South East. Higgins was previously head of the London & Aberdeen Group and worked on the redevelopment of Maidenhead town centre.

Infrastructure business Robertson has appointed Tommy Hamilton (pictured second from right) as commercial director in its Central West region. He joins from McLaughlin & Harvey.

Malcolm Hollis has appointed Paul Vane (pictured second from left) as an associate in the Manchester office to the measured surveys team. Vane joins from Tower Surveys.

Paula Smith (pictured left) has joined the professional services team at Crickmay Chartered Surveyors and will undertake valuations, rating appeals and landlord & tenant work.

Law firm DWF has appointed insurance partner Iftikhar Ali to its London office, where he will specialise in construction, power and engineering claims. He joins from Simmons & Simmons.

Michael Taylor has joined the GVA property management team in the Midlands and will work with GVA’s client Logicor.

Freddie Pritchard-Smith has joined new property app Savvy as chief executive. He was previously head of commercial agency at Cluttons. The app is set to launch in Q3 2018 and is an online platform that connects people, spaces and services.

M J Mapp has promoted Andrew Sutcliffe and Adam Windley to client directors in the portfolio management team. Charlotte Le Vay has been promoted to senior surveyor in the residential team.

The buy-to-let team at LendInvest has hired Antonia Pike as team leader from Fleet Mortgages. Shane Wallace has joined as field-based business development manager for the East of England. Mark Foley has been promoted to a field-based BDM, covering the Midlands.

Henry Rowe, a director at Kevin Henry Estate Agents, is to retire in September following a 30-year career with the business.

Real estate law firm Davitt Jones Bould has appointed partners Mary Anderson, Melanie Greer-Walker and Louisa Swanton to its London office. Partners Richard Holmes and Nichola Gray and consultant Tony Fitzmaurice have joined the Manchester office.

The international investment group of BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Patrick Delcol as head of Pan-European retail, effective from 1 July. Delcol joined the firm in 2013 and is one of the founders and president of the Polish Council of Shopping Centers.

Hawksmoor has promoted Lisa Cooke and Tom Bathurst to the position of associate directors. Both specialise in project management, sales and acquisition of residential development land across the UK.

MyHomeGroup has appointed Manoj Varsani as chief technology officer to lead its digital transformation programme. He joins from the House Crowd, a proptech business that focussed on crowdfunded property investments. Varsani will be responsible for the redesign of the SellMyHome and RentMyHome websites.

The building surveying division at Barker Storey Matthews has appointed Rory Addison Smith as associate director. He specialises in design and specification, project management and dilapidations and will service clients across the firms Huntingdon, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds offices.

Ralph Luck has joined the GVA development team. He will work on further and higher education development, masterplanning and delivery of public and private sector joint ventures and mixed-use development. He has more than 40 years’ experience in real estate development and regeneration.

Mark Welberry has joined Spicerhaart P/X&AM as business development manager covering London, Anglia and the South East. He previously worked for London Stone Properties, based on the Royal Arsenal Riverside development Woolwich.

Nicholas Ian Cooper has been appointed as a non-executive director of Scottish housebuilder Springfield Properties.

Stuart Johnston has rejoined DM Hall as a partner to lead the commercial property team in its Aberdeen office.  He will head up the team’s valuation, agency and building consultancy divisions in the north, covering Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands.

Amanda Milliner has been appointed agency team administrator at the Cardiff office of Knight Frank. Milliner will provide support to the industrial & logistics and capital markets teams, as well as delivering the firm’s social media and marketing output.

Declan Byrne joins Hush Project Management & Consulting as a senior project manager. Byrne has extensive experience in the commercial and leisure sectors, and in retail and residential development. His portfolio includes the Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane, W1, and the Leadenhall Building, EC3.

Colliers International has appointed Kamill Georg Wipyewski as the new managing director for its valuation division in Germany, and joint head of the division alongside Berit Schumann. He will responsible for driving the expansion of the valuation teams in Frankfurt and Berlin.

Rapleys has promoted the following people to equity partners: Simon Harbour, building consultancy & project management; Nick Fell, affordable housing & viability; and Neil Jones and Richard Huteson, town planning.
