People and companies: CBRE bolsters regional lending team

Savills heritage planning team has recruited Paul Robertshaw (pictured left) as associate director. Robertshaw joins from the City of London where he was senior design and conservation officer, responsible for advising on high profile heritage schemes including the Royal Exchange, Bank of England and The Ned hotel.

Law firm Bevan Brittan has appointed Judith Hopper (pictured second from left) as a litigation partner in the Leeds office. Hopper joins from DLA Piper, where she worked for 10 years and was a director.

Kenny Orpin (pictured second from right) has been appointed as an associate director in the investment advisory arm of CBRE’s capital advisers team. Based in the Manchester office, Orpin will be part of the real estate lending team advising clients across the UK regions on the implementation of real estate lending strategies.

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Patrick Scanlon (pictured right) as head of UK offices insight. Scanlon was previously head of central London research at Knight Frank. He joins the firm’s EMEA Research & Insight team as a partner, based in London.

Dan Jones has joined Acorn Property Group’s Cardiff office as construction project manager. He has more than 15 years’ experience working as a project manager and surveyor in the construction industry, having previously worked in London and Dubai.

Lambert Smith Hampton has appointed surveyor Richard Sidaway to its lease advisory department in Birmingham. Sidaway joins from Bromwich Hardy, where he was a general practice surveyor and worked in the agency and asset management teams.

Dave Macleod has joined Highlands and Islands Enterprise as head of property and infrastructure. Macleod has worked in the Scottish commercial property sector for more than 25 years and his experience spans transactional markets, valuation work and consultancy advice.

Tom Swanson will join Colliers International’s city capital markets team in January 2019 as a director.

Paragon has made the following promotions. In London: Charlie Knox, director in the environmental and sustainability team; Paul Arthur, director in building surveying; Katie Smith, Dan Baluk, Karl Taverner and Rob Houlton, associate directors in building surveying; and Dan Snape, senior project manager in the projects team. In Esher: Mike O’Dell, director in the bank monitoring team; Mark Merritt, associate director in the bank monitoring team; Tom Wylie, associate director in quantity surveying; Simon Hobson, senior project manager in the projects team; Jack Nowicki, senior quantity surveyor; and Ian Honor, senior building surveyor.

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Andrew Baker as head of energy in infrastructure and sustainability. Baker will lead a national team located across Leeds, Edinburgh and London, advising clients on how to protect real estate portfolios from obsolescence.

BMO Real Estate Partners has promoted Kamila Bouyahiaoui to European transactions associate.

Edinburgh House Estates has recruited Stuart Yates as senior asset manager and Richard Dunling as asset manager.

This Land has appointed Corné van Tonder as finance director and Kate Dunning joins as marketing director.

Nicola Osborne has joined Bradley Hall as corporate client director. Kathryn Kent has been promoted to new homes manager.

The Birmingham office of BNP Paribas Real Estate has recruited Mark Robinson as head of agency, focusing on the office market. Gary Williamson joins as head of building surveying for the Midlands region. Paul Milsom has joined the lease advisory team and Matthew Greenaway has joined the valuation team.

Cording Real Estate has appointed Daniel Taylor as senior property manager. Taylor will be responsible for overseeing the management of the UK’s retail, industrial and office assets. He was previously a senior surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield.

LendInvest has appointed chief financial officer Angelie Panteli to the board. Panteli was previously with augmented reality technology company Blippar.

Turley has appointed James Blake as director in their sustainability team in Manchester.

Cushman & Wakefield in Bristol has appointed Shimarlie Andrew as a senior consultant and Nasreen Dad as a retail surveyor. Polly Smart and Oscar Skevington-Postles have joined the firm’s graduate programme.

BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Anita Simaza as head of logistics and industrial. She previously served as a director at Prologis.

Mark Woodrow has set up BTR Partners, a development and advisory business in the build to rent sector. Woodrow was previously director of development at Grainger, where he worked for 10 years.

Venita Jones has been appointed field sales manager for Elan Homes.

Michael Chilton has joined Thrings Solicitors’ construction team as a partner. Chilton is an experienced construction law specialist and former quantity surveyor.

The Midlands team of Gerald Eve has appointed Ross Cuthbert as a senior surveyor in the capital markets team and Oliver Billing as a surveyor specialising in lease consultancy. Jack Davies has joined as an assistant surveyor as part of the firm’s graduate training programme.
