Knight Frank has appointed Alex James (pictured left) to its private client team in the London office. He was previously an associate partner in the firm’s Middle East office and spearheaded business development for Knight Frank in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE.
Cushman & Wakefield has appointed partner Caryn Donahue (pictured second from left) to lead its UK retirement living service based in London. Donahue has relocated from the firm’s Boston office and previously worked for JP Morgan.
Mark Whittingham (pictured second from right) has joined the London office of Duff & Phelps as a managing director in the real estate advisory group. He previously worked for BNP Paribas Real Estate and is experienced in commercial and residential, advising on valuations for loan security and statutory purposes.
Digital auction house BidX1 has appointed Antony Schober (pictured right) as chief operating officer of its UK business. He has more than 17 years’ experience in real estate professional services and will be responsible for overseeing the operation and expansion of the UK business.
AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets has appointed Joe Persechino as head of residential and student accommodation and Vincent Mezard as head of hospitality.
Glenhawk has recruited Harleigh French as business development associate and Nicholas Hare as an analyst, based in London.
Sau-Wan Lai and Rebecca Wheeler have launched Wheeler and Lai Chartered Surveyors, offering commercial property services on the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.
DM Hall has appointed Kerry Boyle as a business sales agent in its Edinburgh office.
Law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed Paula Hanlon as a senior associate in its real estate team. Hanlon has acted for development companies, investment funds and retailers. She was previous a partner at Hill Dickinson.
Andrew Macfarlane has joined the building consultancy team at Aston Rose. He previously worked for John Cobb Consulting.
Supported living developer HBV has appointed Laurence Basturkmen as chief operating officer.
The Instant Group has appointed Laura Hobbs as global head of supply chain. She joins from Turner & Townsend where she was a procurement director.
Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell has appointed Simon Hake as an associate director in the agency team.
Residential Secure Income has appointed David Orr as independent non-executive chairman.
Harris Lamb has appointed principal ecologist Rob Harrison to its recently established environment team.

Knight Frank has promoted James Clements and Ben Wisher to partners. Clements heads the firm’s industrial and logistics agency in the Midlands, and Wisher is part of the capital markets team.
BNP Paribas Real Estate has recruited Gaynor Gillespie as HR director and a member of the UK board.
Kingswood Residential Investment Management has recruited Kristine Princa as residential property manager and Hannah Baldwick as a lettings negotiator.
