FHP has promoted Mairad Gethings (pictured, left) and Ian Mitchell to associate director roles in the professional services team based in Nottingham.

UPP has appointed Jason Clarke (pictured, second left) as head of energy and environment to lead on its plans to reduce energy consumption across its portfolio.

Quadrant has promoted Tom Hatfield (pictured, second right) to partner. He joined the firm’s retail and leisure asset management division four years ago from Savills.

Greystar Real Estate Partners has appointed Ward Frisby (pictured, right) as development director in Ireland. He will manage its development pipeline and delivery of new multifamily assets in Dublin.

Rockwell has promoted Nicholas Mee as managing director UK. He was previously board director and head of land.

Cushman & Wakefield has strengthened its national offices team with the appointment of Steve Lane as head of its Bristol team. Alfie Passingham joins as an associate from Colliers.

Daniel Halstead has joined Shoosmiths’ real estate team as a partner in the Thames Valley office.

The Land Promoters and Developers Federation has appointed Phill Bamford as associate director of policy and research. He has led the planning policy. and land promotion team at Gladman Developments for the last nine years.

Lodders has appointed environmental lawyer Lee McBride as partner to head up its new environmental law service.

Colliers has recruited Lee Layton as a director to the research and economics team from Cushman & Wakefield, and John Freker joins the national capital markets team as associate director from Savills bolstering the firm’s operational capital markets capabilities.

Liz Beighton has joined Boyer as a chartered town planner and director in the Colchester office.

Vail Williams has promoted Adam Barnfield, Brian Miklasz, Alex Gauntlett and Jon Sharp to associates, and Dan Reynaldo and Andrew Soane to surveyors. New appointments to the team include Matt Doe and Tim Hackett as associates, and Nicki Rought and Holly Vos as surveyors.

Student accommodation provider Study Inn Group has appointed Marcus Hook as group finance director.

Hines has appointed Simone Pozzato as fund manager for Hines European Core Fund, following its acquisition of the Friesen Quartier in Cologne, Germany.

Knight Frank has expanded its residential development team in South Wales with the appointment of Gareth Watts from Cardiff Council.

Place Capital Group has appointed Pete Adams as commercial director to support new business development opportunities. He was formerly chief quantity surveyor at Lovell.

CBRE has appointed Kieran McLaughlin to lead its residential land and development team covering the north of England. Claire Taylor-Venter joins as head of client care for its UK property management team. Andrew Hulme has been appointed as executive director in its UK investment properties team, and John Coddington joins as head of residential in its property management team.

Social impact real estate firm HSPG has appointed Michael Reason as finance director and Josh Beeston as head of affordable housing acquisitions.

Investment specialist Avelios ha appointed Thomas Fiebig as managing director of its new German operation.

Amaris Hospitality has appointed James Tynan as head of corporate development and transactions as it expands across the UK and Europe.

Eddisons has welcomed building surveying placement year students Samuel Pearson and George Greenwood-Bartlett from Sheffield Hallam, and Eleanor Kent from Northumbria to its building and project consultancy team.

Ben Lewis from Barton Willmore has been appointed the new chair of RenewableUK Cymru.

Patrick Bergin has joined ilke Homes as its chief financial officer. He was previously chief executive of Crest Nicholson.

Obituary

Former Alder King veteran Grant Watson, whose career with the firm spanned six decades, has died aged 81. Recognised as one of Bristol and the South West’s leading surveyors, Watson helped influence and support development across the region from the 1960s through to the early 2000s.
