People moves: Dacres Commercial appoints new director

Dacres Commercial has promoted Ed Pawley (pictured, right) to director. He joined the firm in 2021 as a senior associate and covers Yorkshire, the North West, the Midlands and the M1 corridor.
The Government Property Agency has appointed Pat Ritchie (pictured, left) as its chair for a second term until 2027. She has extensive experience in real estate, local government and economic development and has held chief executive roles at Newcastle City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.
Europa has appointed Julia Ashford as head of performance analytics. She will provide bespoke analytical frameworks to measure and drive performance across the firm’s investments.

Law firm Weightmans has hired specialist transactional real estate lawyer Owen McKenna as a partner in the real estate department.
Obsidian Strategic has appointed Ben Johnson as planning director and Stephanie Walker as associate planning director from Inland Homes.
Mayer Brown has hired Ben Eaton as a partner in its tax practice, where he will focus on the tax aspects of cross-border real estate transactions and investment funds.
Cushman & Wakefield has named Aubrey Waddell as chief executive of its global occupier services division. Before joining the business in 2021, Waddell oversaw commercial strategy for JLL’s large enterprise occupier clients.
Knight Dragon has appointed Matt Hawkins as chief executive from Mapeley, succeeding Richard Margree, who is retiring. Hawkins will oversee the next phase of the firm’s flagship Greenwich Peninsula project.
Private equity firm Partners Group has appointed Henrik Orrbeck as co-head of real estate Europe and Stephen McCall as global head of platforms and opcos.
JLL in Manchester has appointed Jonathan Wiedemann as head of the North West, in addition to his role as head of building consultancy North. Steve Hogg will take on the role of head of UK development and regeneration. Alistair Reid has been named head of the Glasgow office, and Simon Malone becomes head of building consultancy for Scotland.
Avison Young has appointed Scott Mitchell as a director in its UK retail investment team. He joins after 13 years at FMX Urban Property Advisers.
Simon Murphy will step down as the chief executive of the Battersea Power Station Development Company in March. The Malaysian consortium that bought the development appointed Murphy as chief financial officer in 2012. The project opened its doors in October 2022.
Peter Sugden has joined Clyde & Co Real Estate as a consultant from Katten Muchin Rosenman. He is experienced in real estate investment, development, hospitality and leisure, and real estate joint ventures.
Adina Hotels, owned by Australia’s International Hotel Group, TFE Hotels, has appointed Asli Kutlucan as chief executive for Europe.
Waterside regeneration specialist Peel Waters has appointed Jonny Kent as finance director. He joins from Bruntwood.
David Owen has joined W.RE from Arish Capital Partners and Wainbridge as finance director.
Gerald Eve has appointed Henry Fellows and Matthew Prout to the planning and development team, and Mark Churchouse has joined the operational real estate team.
Savills’ country house team has hired James Toogood to lead the South and South West regions, Barclay Macfarlane to lead the East Anglia region, and Charlie Kannreuther to lead the North West region.
Craig Hughes has joined Syzygy, a lowcarbon real estate solutions provider, as a senior adviser. He was previously head of partnerships at flexible workspace operator Instant Group.
Bob Wiseman has been named area director for London at Aitchison Raffety.
Pinnacle Group has appointed Phil Clark, a real estate investment executive, to its board. Clark has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate investment space, including as founder of the Igloo Regeneration Partnership, the first sustainability-focused housing regeneration fund.
Bramall Properties has appointed Jonathan Duck as property director. He joins the board alongside founder and chairman Tony Bramall, Miles Chilton and Alison Lockwood.
Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association chief executive Geeta Nanda has resigned after 16 years. She will remain in the role until a replacement is appointed.
AEW has appointed Jeffrey King as fund manager of Eurocore. Based in Frankfurt, he will lead the management of the pan-European core investment.
McCarthy Stone has appointed Alex Stark as managing director of its London and South East division. He joins from Crest Nicholson, where he was managing director for the Eastern division and an executive board member.
Mount Green Housing Association has appointed Jacqui Diletti and Natalie Tynan to its resident committee group.
