Appointments and promotions
JLL has named Andy Poppink, its chief executive of the EMEA markets advisory business, as the new global chief executive of the division. Poppink will succeed Greg O’Brien, who has been made executive chairman for Americas markets advisory. In the Mayfair office, Shereen Akhtar (pictured, left) has joined as head of sales and Mohamed Zaghloul as director of the private office team.
Cala Homes has appointed Jessica Sparkes (pictured, centre) from Barratt Developments as head of planning and Tom Pearson from Crest Nicholson as senior land manager, to support the firm’s operations in Surrey, Sussex, Kent and the south London boroughs.
Savills has appointed Ashley Conaghan (pictured, right) as director of client services and Maxi Glas as head of service partner relationships. Karl Kelly has joined the capital advisors’ team as an associate director from Almcor.
Mapp has named Louise Bonham as its new chief executive officer, with effect from September. Nigel Mapp will take on the role of chairman and David Clein will become executive chairman.
BNP Paribas Real Estate has hired Kevin Hunt to head its Bristol planning team. He joins following a 19-year career at JLL, where he led the South West and Wales teams on major residential, commercial, mixed-use and education projects.
Lucy Moroney has joined Colliers’ UK planning team as senior planner. She will handle client property valuation and work with local authorities on property allocation. Moroney joins from Ferguson Planning.
Town Legal has promoted Victoria McKeegan to partner and Nikita Sellers to senior associate.
US-based industrial real estate business Bridge Industrial has appointed Tim Bradshaw as senior vice president of UK construction and development. He joins from Oxenwood Real Estate.
Francis Tyrrell has joined Addleshaw Goddard’s planning and infrastructure consenting team as a partner. He has prior experience in the ports, urban transit and airports sectors. Tyrrell joins from Pinsent Masons.
Harris Lamb has strengthened its commercial agency team with the addition of graduate surveyor Ben Grinnell from RCA Regeneration.
Vita Group has promoted Ioannis Verdelis as chief investment officer to lead the company’s investments, partnerships, joint ventures and divestments. He joined the business 12 years ago.
Michael Smyth has joined Gateley Legal’s construction team as a partner in Birmingham.
Flora Harley has been appointed head of Knight Frank’s new ESG research team. She has been with the company for the past five years, previously working as an economist for KPMG and the UK government.
Helen Randerson, land director at Gleeson Homes, has been named Women In Property’s chair for Yorkshire and the North East. She has been a member of WIP since 2015.
Law firm Steele Raymond has hired associate solicitor Henry Barker and solicitor Minaz Rahman to its residential development team.
Sandyford Properties has appointed Lucy Diprose to the newly created role of head of property management. Her responsibilities will include asset management, property site maintenance, tenant relationships and contract management.
Art-Invest Real Estate UK has promoted development director Luka Vukotic to partner to oversee the expansion of its pipeline across the UK. Vukotic joined the business in 2019 to support its move into the UK and the launch of its London office.
Avant Homes has appointed Mark Cook as head of the new North West office in Greater Manchester. He joined the firm last November from Persimmon Homes as regional chairman for the Central, East Midlands and West Midlands regions.
Marie Hunt, IPUT Real Estate’s head of research, has been appointed chair of the Urban Land Institute in Ireland. She has been a member of the ULI Ireland National Council since 2015 and will succeed Kevin Nowlan.
BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker have made the following senior director promotions: Jason Beedell, rural research; Neil Jewell, building; Olly Ward, office investment; James Owen, occupier solutions; Emma Orford, property management; Tom Eagleton, valuation; Jack McCarron, investment management; Greg Mansell, investment management research; and Nick Bramley, land management.
