Persimmon and Barratt Redrow agree 2,500-home jv
Persimmon and Barratt Homes Bristol have finalised a major joint venture in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, marking a significant step toward delivering thousands of new homes to the community.
Persimmon has been working with Wiltshire Council to finalise outline planning permission for up to 2,500 homes on the circa 440-acre site, which it expects early next year.
However, with Barratt Homes Bristol buying half of the site as part of the jv agreement the pair said delivery could move forward. The homes will now be delivered jointly by Persimmon and Barratt Homes Bristol and their sister companies, Charles Church, David Wilson Homes and Redrow Homes.

Alongside the new homes, the pair will deliver around 170 acres of public open space.
Persimmon Homes and Charles Church’s deputy managing director for Wessex, Seb Spiller, said: “Our plans at West Ashton are incredibly exciting with major strategic highway improvements, biodiversity enhancements, environmental features, public services investments, affordable housing, and a sense of place all central parts of the scheme.
“Large-scale projects like this not only serve to meet the goals of national and local governments, but they help in alleviating the housing crisis on both levels, generating wider benefits for the local community and economy.”
