Persimmon profits jump 44%

Persimmon-THUMB.jpegUK housebuilder Persimmon has reported a 44% increase in pretax profit to £475m in the last fiscal year, up from £145m in 2013.

The number of homes built increased by 17% to 3,509 and the average sale price increased by 5.3% to £190,533.

Group chairman Nicholas Wrigley said: “We have undertaken disciplined investment to support sustainable growth in volume, increasing the number of completions by 17% in the year, bringing the increase in the number of new Persimmon homes completed over the last two years to 36%.”
