Retailer Just for Pets has secured a second site in the Cotswolds for its dog-focused concept, as it seeks a further five locations for its brand.
The retailer has opened its second store, operating under its Dog brand, in Stow-on-the-Wold. It agreed a 10-year lease for the ground floor of a former Barclays Bank site at £46,000 per annum. The space comprises a large open-plan retail area measuring some 1,300 sq ft.
The first Dog store opened in June last year at 3-4 Brewery Court in Cirencester. The offer focuses on dog health and wellbeing and provides high-end products from brands including Barbour. Team members are trained in puppy socialisation, nutrition and force-free harness fittings by Hannah Molloy of Channel 4’s Puppy School.
Retained adviser Carter Jonas is searching for new stores on behalf of the brand, along with larger premises for the wider Just for Pets offer.
Stores measuring between 2,500 to 6,500 sq ft are sought in areas including Bath, Cheltenham, Hereford and Stroud. Criteria includes car parking, with focus on roadside and edge-of-town properties and retail park locations.
Stuart Williams, partner, commercial at Carter Jonas, said: ”It is always impressive to see businesses recognise opportunities in the market, and the opening of a second Just for Pets store, which focuses on premium dog products, demonstrates its commitment to providing a variety of high-quality and different options for pets and their owners.”
