Peveril Securities has signed a deal with Mansfield Town Football Club to develop the 6 ha [15 acre] Portland Sidings site next to the club’s Field Mill ground as 14,000 sq m [150,00 sq ft] of non-food retail space.
Outline planning consent has been granted for the scheme which Peveril claims will be worth around £30m on completion.
Proceeds from the development will be used to upgrade MansfieldTown FC’s facilities and provide the ground with a 10,500 all-seat stadium. The scheme is known as Portland Retail Park and will provide two stand-alone restaurants in addition to the non-food retail space.
