PFI to be scrapped for large NHS hospital building says NHS finance chief

Use of the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) to fund building large NHS hospitals will have to be scrapped, according to Andrew Neill, head of the NHS’s private finance unit. He said funding problems in several projects were now virtually insurmountable.
