Pfizer boosts lease at Kent’s Discovery Park

Pfizer will be staying at its research, development and manufacturing site in Sandwich, Kent, as the firm extended its lease at the 335,000 sq ft facility for another decade.

Discovery Park is home to Pfizer’s pilot plant, which manufactures medicines for use in the firm’s clinical trials worldwide. Sandwich is also home to Pfizer’s worldwide safety and regulatory operations, where medicine licensing for 170 markets across the globe is managed.

Pfizer occupies the space spread across three main buildings, including traditional labs, offices and manufacturing facilities.

Eamon Burke, lease advisory director at JLL, acting for Pfizer, said: “Sandwich is a hub for innovation and tech and is rich with history, renowned for being the birthplace to several of Pfizer’s most important and most well-known medicines.”
