PGIM Real Estate has hired CBRE’s former head of environmental consultancy to lead its sustainability work across Europe and Asia.
Julie Townsend has joined the asset manager as ESG lead across the regions, having spent 15 years at the agency.
Working from London, Townsend is tasked with overseeing PGIM’s target of reducing operational carbon emissions across its European and Asia Pacific property portfolio to net zero by 2050.
She will also lead ESG reporting and assessments across the regions, and will report to Christina Hill, global head of ESG and head of Americas Asset Management.
Hill said: “We are fortunate to have been able to attract a skilled and experienced ESG leader such as Julie, who will be a pivotal member of our growing team as we continue to accelerate our sustainability efforts in the years ahead.”
