Pharmaceuticals manufacturer Sterling Pharmaceuticals has secured a parcel of land at St Modwen’s Longbridge Business Park in Birmingham to build its new headquarters.
The development, designed by architects Glancy Nicholls, will span 40,000 sq ft.
The company says it has outgrown its existing research, development and manufacturing sites in Moseley.
Sterling is aiming to submit a planning application for the scheme after Christmas, with a view to construction starting in late 2024.
Elliot Sellars, development director at St Modwen, said: “As regeneration at Longbridge continues at pace, it is encouraging to see businesses such as Sterling Pharmaceuticals choose this developing location as their base for operations.”
Qamar Nawaz, chief executive officer at Sterling, said: “The new space will enable us to take on a significant number of new extra staff, bringing our eventual workforce to around 150 – nearly all in highly skilled jobs.”
KWB and MacMullen Associates advised Sterling. MacMullen Associates is also advising on the building’s design, planning and construction.
