Phillips completes £100m gallery buy

Art auction house Phillips has completed its £100m purchase of 30 Berkeley Square, W1, for a new gallery.

The 217-year-old art dealership, formerly called Phillips de Pury, made an offer for PRUPIM’s 52,000 sq ft asset last October. The deal has now completed, for just over £100m.

Phillips plans to transform the basement, ground and first floors into an auction showroom to mirror its Park Avenue flagship in Manhattan, New York.

It will let out some of the upper floors to office tenants.

Pilcher Hershman advised the buyer and will let the office space; H2SO represented PRUPIM.
