Caudwell Group is aiming for 250 Phones 4U stores in the UK by Christmas and a total of 300 in the medium term.
The news came as it opened its 200th store in Cardiff, Wales.
It plans to open about another 25 outlets in Wales over the next two years at a cost of £50m.
