Berkeley Group chief executive Tony Pidgley said he was still on good terms with his son, also called Tony, after he tried to take over the company.
He congratulated Pidgley junior on the timing of the attempt, when Berkeley shares were in a slump.
Meanwhile, in a Mail on Sunday interview, Pidgley junior’s former wife Denise claimed he was an abusive and a heavy cocaine user.
