Pierre Hermé to open on Seven Dials

French patisserie Pierre Hermé is to open a new London boutique on Shaftesbury’s Seven Dials.

The central London landlord has announced that Pierre Hermé has taken a 596 sq ft standalone store at 38 Monmouth Street, WC2.

The boutique will include Pierre Hermé’s signature offering of Macarons & Chocolats, when it opens this November.

Pierre Herme is present across 11 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Pierre

Hermé Paris has more than 45 boutiques, with several more additions planned by early 2015.

Sam Bain-Mollison, head of group retail strategy and letting at Shaftesbury, said: “Seven Dials is London’s focal point for select international brands seeking to create something special in the capital. Pierre Hermé is the perfect addition to our established offer on Monmouth Street and brings to Seven Dials great brand cachet, a unique product, and a cosmopolitan experience that complements Seven Dials’ unrivalled array of leading brands.”

Pierre Hermé joins a growing number of French brands to make their London home in Seven Dials. Mon Plaisir, one of London’s oldest French restaurants, is on Monmouth Street, as well as Caudalie, the beauty brand from Bordeaux. Seven Dials also hosts La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels and Le Coq Sportif’s only standalone store in the UK.

In addition, Loft Design By…, the Parisian fashion brand, selected Seven Dials for its UK flagship store which opened in August this year.

The news also coincides with Shaftesbury combining two units to create a 1,564 sq ft flagship store location at 35-37 Monmouth Street, WC2.

JLL and Shackleton acted for Shaftesbury; Pierre Hermé was unrepresented.
