Pillar sells final tranche of Glasgow office scheme to j-v partner

Bellhouse Joseph Holdings has paid Pillar Property £8.5m for the remainder of their office development at Broomielaw, Glasgow.

BJH originally developed the scheme with Pillar, which bought the site in July 1994.

Patrick Vaughan, chief executive of Pillar said: “Broomielaw has been a very successful part of our development portfolio. However, it is no longer aligned to our key strategic objectives.”

Situated in the southern sector of Glasgow’s central business district, Broomielaw is now a prime office location and has seen some of the largest deals in the area. Scottish Enterprise has recently taken a prelet on around 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) while British Telecom occupies over 15,800 sq m (170,000 sq ft) for its regional headquarters at Atlantic Quay.
