Pillar unveils shopping project for Leeds city centre

Pillar Property Investments has unveiled a £20m plan to redevelop the Debenhams store in the centre of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Pillar bought the 7,896.5 sq m (85,000 sq ft) store in the Briggate shopping street as an investment in 1991. There is a long leaseback to the Burton Group running to 2077.

It has now bought the adjoining shop in Kirkgate from Hill Samuel and plans to build another 9,847.4 sq m (106,000 sq ft) of retail space.
