Plans to expand Pinewood Studios by 725,000 sq ft, creating a 1m sq ft film studio, have been given the go-ahead by South Buckinghamshire district council.
Pinewood Shepperton, which owns the studios, is expanding them to capitalise on the fast-growing UK film industry.
It also hopes that, by building more offices at the scheme, it will be able to attract media and film-related companies on five- to 15-year leases instead of short three- to six-month leases.
Work on the plans will be phased over a 10-year period, during which time the studios will remain operational.
Architect Burland TM is the masterplanner. DTZ is advising.
