Pinewood Shepperton is drawing up new plans to expand Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire just months after the government blocked proposals. The film and TV studio business plans to submit a planning application this autumn. Pinewood’s original proposal included television and film facilities, 16 street sets and 1,500 homes. However, secretary of state Eric Pickles refused to grant planning permission for the £200m scheme in January as it would have involved development on the green belt. Pinewood Shepperton, which is part-owned by John Whittaker’s Peel Group, wrote off £7.7m in costs after the failed application. annabel.dixon@estatesgazette.com
