Pioneer Group signs trio of occupiers for Manchester’s Hexagon Tower

Pioneer Group has signed three research and development companies at Hexagon Tower in Blackley, Manchester.

Colour Synthesis Solutions, a provider of chemicals and chemistry research and development services, has taken additional space in Hexagon Tower in support of its expansion plans. The firm will now occupy a 5,400 sq ft suite.

ADEY Group subsidiary Alpha Scientific has relocated its microbiological water testing laboratory to a 1,500 sq ft facility at Hexagon Tower.

John Hogg Technical Solutions, which operates in fuel marking technology and solvent dye manufacturing, has also moved its R&D department to Hexagon Tower, taking up 1,710 sq ft of space. The new site includes both lab and office space.

Lab rents at Hexagon Tower start from £20 per sq ft. The deals follow the completion of a £10m refurbishment, which included the creation of additional CL2 wet labs with individual suites from 300 sq ft to 2,400 sq ft, capable of accommodating requirements up to 15,000 sq ft, targeting early-stage companies.

Works also included recladding and the installation of triple-glazed windows to improve the energy performance of the building.

Hexagon Tower is an 11-storey, 165,000 sq ft building that features incubators for growing life science businesses and is home to existing international companies, including Intertek, Arxada and Fresenius.

Carter Jonas has recently been appointed as agent for Hexagon Tower.
