Liverpool Council has been recommended to approve proposals for a student block and residential scheme in the city.
The move comes ahead of the planning committee meeting next Tuesday.
Two separate proposals have been brought forward by TJ Morris and South Liverpool Homes. The former is looking to build a partially five-, six- and seven-storey mixed-use building providing 250 student bedrooms alongside an on-site gym, amenity areas, cinema, study spaces, laundry facilities and cycle storage, totalling 10,882 sq ft.
The ground floor will include a Home Bargains store and will provide 70 cycle storage spaces. The building sits on Audley and Kempston Street in Fabric District, which forms part of Knowledge Quarter in Liverpool, where there is high demand for student accommodation.
The scheme was designed by FCH Architects, with Zerum advising on planning matters. Caro Developments will be responsible for the delivery and operation of the scheme.
Meanwhile, housing association South Liverpool Homes is seeking approval to bring forward 92 homes along South Parade and Conleach Road in Speke.
The neighbourhood, designed by Halsall Lloyd Partnership, comprises 51 two-storey houses, a block of 35 flats and six wheelchair adaptable bungalows.
The proposals also include the provision of a new public open space, communal parking areas and private amenity spaces.
