Planning has been approved for a second office at Croydon’s 2m sq ft Ruskin Square scheme.
It is expected to deliver a further 200,000 sq ft of offices, with retail and dining at ground-floor level.
The £500m Schroder UK Real Estate Fund development, which is adjacent to East Croydon station, already comprises the first 180,000 sq ft office under construction and a first residential building due to finish in mid-2016.
The building, to stand at 63m, will be larger than the first office block at 250,000 sq ft.
Ruskin Square is being speculatively developed by Schroder in partnership with developer, Stanhope.
On the nine-acre site, up to 2.5m sq ft of new accommodation is expected to be delivered, including 1.3m sq ft of offices, retail and leisure, public spaces and up to 625 homes.
James Lass, fund manager, Schroder, said: “This latest planning milestone allows us to maintain and build upon the momentum that is building at Ruskin Square.”
Savills and JLL are the retained commercial letting agents for Ruskin Square.
