Plans for 51,000 sq ft data centre at Worcester Six get green light

Stoford’s plans to build a new data centre in business park Worcester Six, near Worcester, have been approved by Wychavon District Council.

The data centre, which is being built on behalf of IONOS, the largest data hosting company based in Europe, will span 51,479 sq ft.

Around 38,501 sq ft will be devoted to data centre space for IONOS and its subsidiary brand Fasthosts. The remaining 12,978 sq ft will be office space.

IONOS will join existing tenants Marmon Food and Beverage Equipment, Siemens and Spire Healthcare at the business park. Once fully developed, Worcester Six will total 1.5m sq ft of space.

Stoford development manager Edward Peel said: “The approval for the IONOS development will bring another world-class operator to Worcester Six, which recognises the strategic location, excellent infrastructure links, and talented workforce that businesses can draw upon.”
