Plans in for Artisan’s £74m Leeds regen

Artisan Real Estate has submitted a planning application to Leeds City Council for its £74m residential-led regeneration on the site of the former Kirkstall District Centre.

Proposals for the new development at Kirkstall Place would create 263 homes – 80 townhouses and 183 flats with between one and four bedrooms – and a small-scale commercial offering.

The council requires that the scheme provide at least 15% affordable housing, with a split of 60% social rent and 405 affordable rent tenure.

Kirkstall Place is located 3.3km north-west of Leeds city centre, in the centre of Kirkstall. The site spans six acres and has been derelict for 15 years.

The development would also include green space and new pedestrian pathways to link it to the surrounding areas of Kirkstall.

Clive Wilding, property director at Artisan Real Estate, said the team is working to deliver “a mix of housing in a development that creates a strong sense of place for the local community”.

Artisan is a mixed-use city centre specialist, with other projects in London, Bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The developer was advised by CBRE’s planning and development team.

The planning application can be viewed at Leeds City Council’s planning portal, planning reference 19/01666/FU.
