Plans in for Bowlers Yard Manchester resi scheme

Developer and investor Scarborough International Properties has lodged plans to build a 64-home residential scheme in New Islington, Manchester.

As part of a joint venture with Singaporean company Metro Holdings and Chinese firm Hualing Group, Scarborough has submitted plans for the nine-storey Bowlers Yard scheme.

It marks the third phase of residential development the jv is undertaking at New Islington, following the completion of canal side development Milliners Wharf in 2010 and 144-unit development Hatbox in 2016.

To date, Scarborough has delivered more than 1,000 new homes in Manchester and has a further 546 under construction.

Paul Kelly, development director at Scarborough, said: “Bowlers Yard is another opportunity for Scarborough and our international partners to create a high-quality residential scheme in one of the UK’s most vibrant, cosmopolitan and progressive cities.

“It underlines not only our commitment to deliver our major residential and mixed-use developments, in a dynamic city where there is strong demand for housing but also Manchester’s attractiveness to international investors”.
