Plans in for Bristol student scheme

Wainbridge Global Opportunities has submitted plans to transform Froomsgate House in Bristol city centre into a student accommodation-led scheme.

Wainbridge’s proposes to redevelop the building, which was built in the early 1970s, into 438 student bedrooms, ground-floor shops and bars, a public square and landscaping, and demolish existing footbridges.

The application is expected to come before a committee by the end of the year.

Kevin Hunt, associate director at Jones Lang LaSalle, which is advising Wainbridge, said: “The redevelopment of Froomsgate House will promote the regeneration of this part of Bristol and will deliver an active and lively use which helps to link Broadmead and the city centre.”
