Plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of BT’s soon-to-be former London headquarters at 81 Newgate Street, EC1.
The proposals will see an additional 294,662 sq ft added to the 300,000 sq ft office block to create an 810,307 sq ft 13-storey building housing a swimming pool and gym.
More than 725,000 sq ft of office space will be provided, with multiple terraces and more than 47,000 sq ft of retail space at ground level, as well as a public roof terrace and restaurant.
Orion Capital Mangers paid BT £209.5m for the building in July last year on behalf of its European Real Estate Fund V.
The firm brought in Pella Real Estate Partners to manage the redevelopment in August last year.
