De Montalt Life Sciences has lodged proposals to create a science and technology campus at the former Wicklesham Quarry in Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
The move is expected to help meet the urgent needs of the life sciences sector in the UK.
The scheme, to be known as BioGenia, will provide more than 455,000 sq ft of laboratory and office facilities across seven buildings. A BREEAM Excellent rating is expected to be achieved for all buildings.
The project, designed by Kendall Kingscott, also features a park running through the middle of the site.
The campus is expected to benefit from its proximity to the established hubs at nearby locations such as Oxford Science Park, ARC, Milton Park and Harwell Campus.
Spencer Cooper of De Montalt Life Sciences said: “The application will deliver a completely new-build campus, able to provide new capacity for and embrace the evolving accommodation models of emerging companies in this rapidly growing sector.
“We have already had strong interest in BioGenia, and we are confident that once planning permission is secured, we can move quickly to bring the scheme to fruition, helping to position the UK at the forefront of these emerging sectors.”
