Cole Waterhouse has submitted plans to build a 300,000 sq ft logistics development on a 15.7-acre site, adjacent to Salford’s AJ Bell Stadium.
The move comes after Cole Waterhouse bought the site last month from CosCos, the joint venture between Salford City Council and Peel L&P.
The scheme will comprise two logistics facilities, providing 173,179 sq ft and 126,555 sq ft of space, and will be delivered by the third quarter of 2023.
George Smith, planning manager at Cole Waterhouse, said: “This site sits in a prime location, very close to the port of Salford, and is an important element in Salford’s wider ambitions to deliver the UK’s first tri-modal inland port. It has huge potential and demand is high for quality sustainable logistics space in the right location, and we are pleased to have been able to submit planning so quickly after exchanging on the land.”
The project team includes C4 Projects carrying out architectural services, Henry Riley as project manager, Sixteen Real Estate and DTRE as letting agents and Metis Real Estate as capital markets advisor.
