Plans are underway for a new business park on a site northwest of Stansted Airport.
Columbia Threadneedle acquired the 163-acre site in August 2020 from Manchester Airport Group. The company is set to develop a 2.1m sq ft scheme across the northern part to target logistics tenants as well as the life sciences sector, including offices, storage and distribution.
The scheme will be developed in four phases, with the first expected to start in January 2023 and the final stage in early 2027. It will kick off with the demolition of existing buildings predominantly clustered in the southern area of the site and previously used as airport terminals.
The plans include 1,350 car parking spaces with 20% set to have electric charging points, and 400 cycle spaces.
