Plans submitted for Nottingham office scheme

Local developer Moore Herbert & Moore has submitted plans for the redevelopment of a derelict cinema in Nottingham as 100,000 sq ft of offices.

The former Odeon cinema at Maid Marian Way and Bromley Place has been empty since 2001.

The scheme, called NG One, was designed by Manchester architects Fairhursts Design Group.

Moore Herbert and Moore says it is now at an “advanced stage in negotiation” with an occupier to take the whole of the building.

Owen Mathias of  Mathias Perry, the agent for the scheme, said: “The scheme that is now going through the planning process will set new standards for office accommodation in Nottingham and help to sustain the city centre as a major office location.

“In particular it will address a requirement of blue chip companies for large scale, modern, adaptable, energy-efficient office floorspace in a prestigious city centre location that is accessible for their employees and their customers/clients.”

Planning consultants Antony Aspbury Associates, Maber Project Planning, BWB Consulting, Edmond Shipway and Gleeds are also advising the developer.
