Plans submitted for Shepherd’s Bush makeover

Orion Land & Leisure and Development Securities have lodged outline plans for the redevelopment of Shepherd’s Bush Market, W12.

The plans for the 5-acre site propose 212 flats, 64,500 sq ft of shops and stalls and 43,615 sq ft of ancillary commercial space.

Existing buildings on the West London site will be demolished, while the market will be refurbished and enhanced.

A planning brief for the makeover of the rundown market was approved by Hammersmith & Fulham council in late 2010.

The scheme, designed by Robin Partingdon Architects, also includes a series of market zones, such as an Artisans’ Quarter.
