Plans worked up for 1,400-home Kent scheme

Whitfield 350

Phillip Jeans Homes is working up plans for a 1,400-home development in Whitfield, near Dover, Kent.

Planning agent Barton Willmore has received a resolution from Dover district council to grant outline planning consent for the scheme.

The new homes will be made up of two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as four- and five-bedroom family houses.

The scheme includes a 66-bed residential care home and supported living units and a new two-form entry primary school with early years provision.

The proposal constitutes phase one of the Whitfield Urban Extension. Whitfield is part of a wider strategic allocation for 5,750 homes and associated infrastructure.

Gemma Care, an associate in Barton Willmore’s Ebbsfleet office, said: “This was a unique project in terms of what has been achieved over a relatively short timescale working with Dover district council.”
