Build-to-rent developer Platform_ has submitted plans for 527 homes at the former John Lewis warehouse site on Bonnington Road, Edinburgh.
The plans come a year after the developer acquired the 4.8-acre site from the John Lewis Partnership as its first development in Edinburgh.
The new plans supersede an old planning permission in principle for 220 homes and a distribution centre.
It comprises a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom flats in three blocks from 4 to 7 storeys. There will also be a gym, communal workspaces, a bike club and rooftop gardens.
Matt Willock, development director at Platform_, said: “These proposals not only serve to redevelop a vital location, but help to tackle Edinburgh’s crisis in realistic housing, especially in Edinburgh city centre.”
jmarchitects designed the scheme and Turley advised the planning application.
