PM’s new business council told to produce concrete proposals

Chief executives on the prime minister’s new business advisory council have been asked to hand the government concrete proposals to help drive investment and create jobs following its first meeting yesterday.

Rishi Sunak met business leaders from 14 companies from “strategically important industries for UK growth”.

Taylor Wimpey’s Jennie Daly was one of those on the council, as the government seeks to “break down barriers” and improve relations after the premierships of Boris Johnson and Liz Truss.

The council is intended to meet biannually.
